TuQ coming to a town near you after Eid!

Perhaps taking cue from his “political cousin” Imran Khan, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri announced Wednesday that he would visit every city of the country after Eidul Azha to expand his movement against the government.

Khan, chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is planning public rallies in major cities. He has held two big shows in Karachi and Lahore and is now holding another procession in Mianwali. The cricketer-turned-politician has so far been able to address his supporters every night at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, which is now a part-time event.

Qadri, on the other hand, has remained confined to his container on Constitution Avenue for the last 48 days. The party had recently allowed its workers to return home for Eidul Azha and the firebrand cleric may also be seen returning home without achieving his much-touted ‘revolution’.

ROOT OUT OPPRESSIVE SYSTEM:

“We will now shake every city to voice support for the poor and downtrodden of the society,” said Qadri during his address to workers on Wednesday.

Reiterating that the “oppressive” system will soon be rooted out, Qadri said he would lay out a complete strategy of the protest on Thursday.

“Why should people trust the prevalent system if it cannot provide them justice,” said Qadri, adding that the government has failed to provide education to the masses.

“A country cannot survive without the rule of law and justice,” said Qadri.

He claimed that crimes would be wiped out of the country once the revolution came.

Meanwhile, PAT workers burnt cotton as protest against what they described as the government’s “cruel policies” for the agriculture sector.
