The Punjab government dispatched Rs 7, 000 per family for the people displaced during the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.
However, most of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) have failed to receive the relief amount due to procedural problems during distribution of the money.
According to a report by a non-government organisation, around 1.1 million IDPs have been registered with the FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA).
Only 60,586 out of the 96,966 registered families have been verified by NADRA. The relief amount has failed to reach 36,000 families so far.
According to the effectees, the thumb-prints of most of the people could not be verified because of which the Eid package could not reach most of the families.
