‘United we resign!’

*PTI Punjab lawmakers refuse to appear before Punjab Assembly speaker in groups of four

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly Monday refused to appear at the Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal’s office in groups of four while PTI has written a letter to the speaker maintaining that all its members will appear together as “summoning the MPAs in groups of four is a conspiracy against PTI”.

Earlier, the Punjab Assembly speaker had directed all the PTI MPAs to call upon him in groups of four. According to reports, PTI has prohibited its MPAs to appear individually before the speaker.

The letter adds that 29 members of PTI had presented their resignations together and would appear together before the speaker to affirm them too.

The Punjab Assembly speaker had called four PTI MPAs at 11 am on September 29 and kept waiting till 2 pm but none of the lawmakers appeared.

“The rules will be followed in the issue of resignations,” the speaker reportedly said. Moreover, four more PTI lawmakers have been called by the speaker on September 30.
