Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the Sindh government is ready to hold Local Bodies (LB) polls within reasonable notice but the federal government should first ensure a “uniform system”.

The CM was replying to a question from a member of the 101st National Management Course delegation which was visiting Karachi to get a briefing from the Sindh Government at the Sindh Secretariat.

The Sindh CM informed the visiting officers that Sindh was the first province to pass the Local Government law.

“The Sindh government had assured the Apex Court that it would conduct LG polls and had completed the delimitations for this purpose but someone challenged the Sindh Government’s delimitations in court and the case is still pending.”
