Lahore Police on Monday arrested a woman who tried to enter the Lahore High Court premises with a pistol, a private news channel reported.
The .30 calibre handgun was seized from the woman, identified as Abida, during checking at the main gate of the high court. Abida, had come to the court with her husband for a hearing of a case related to her niece’s love marriage. She is reportedly a resident of Shad Bagh and had a license for the weapon. She told police during investigation that she did not know it was against the law to bring a weapon in court’s premises.
The LHC security has handed over Abida to the Anarkali police for further investigation.
