Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chairman Altaf Hussain has said that he would unveil “the double standards” of the establishment during a telephonic address to MQM workers later today.

Altaf made the announcement early on Saturday in a statement.

Altaf said that whenever he was about to bring reforms in his party’s administrative structure, the establishment became more active and created impediments in his way.
The statement issued on the party’s website also said that the MQM chief is angry over party workers’ “persecution” by law enforcement agencies”, and claimed that party workers arrested in raids were innocent, law-abiding citizens of the country.

He maintained that MQM supported Pakistan Army in its operations against terrorists, adding that the party could not comprehend as to why certain people were against MQM.

The latest statement from the MQM supremo came hours after he posed 14 questions to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif over the recent arrest of party workers during a raid on a sector office of MQM.

The party had also held sit-ins across Karachi two days ago against the arrests from the sector office in the city’s Gulshan-i-Maymar area. The party has been claiming that Rangers and security forces had unlawfully detained its workers.
