Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has accorded approval for providing 20 new dialysis machines to Benazir General Hospital Rawalpindi.
The Punjab CM has given this approval taking notice of the non availability of dialysis machines as per requirement of kidney patients in the hospital.
Only seven dialysis machines are functional in the hospital and four machines have gone dysfunctional. Seven machines are not sufficient to cater to the needs of growing number of dialysis patients. The patients have to face difficulties in undergoing dialysis process due to lack of dialysis machines.
Punjab government has also provided new CT Scan machine costing Rs 50 million for this hospital.
Better yet would be to prevent 90% of dialysis. It's been possible since 2002. If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, or know somebody who does, please check out GenoMed.com to stay off the kidney machine.
