Regularisation of LHWs materialises BB’s another dream: Bilawal

Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PPP’s first priority is to provide employment to the people and today Shaheed Benazir Bhutto (BB)’s one more dream came true by formally regularising the lady health workers (LHWs).

Sindh Acting Governor Agha Siraj Durrani, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Ahmed Khuhro were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants of the distribution ceremony of more than 24,000 permanent offer letters to the employees of lady health workers programme at CM house on Friday, he said BB commenced Lady health workers programme in September, 1994. He said Sindh province offered permanent letters to the lady health workers formally.

He said 160,000 LHWs were providing maternal health care and family planning health services to 65 per cent population and this credit went to the PPP.

Later, he distributed permanent offer letters to the employees of LHW program included Tasleem, Gulshan, Zarbano, Rukhsana, Haseena Khatoon and others. Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that due to lady heath workers much change had been witnessed in maternity and child health care.

He also congratulated LHWs for getting permanent offer letters.
