It is reported that the National Accountability Bureau in its investigation of corruption of Rs3.6bn in Tawana Pakistan scandal has decided to bring former Federal Minister Zubaida Jalal under investigation and to arrest former Chief Secretary Balochistan and others involved. It is heartening to read news of accountability being in practice in our country where often it’s not prioritised. This is a good policy but NAB should be further empowered and given freedom to work in a more independent, improved and speedy working for elimination of this menace of corruption. Furthermore, it should be ensured that investigations are conducted in fair manner by following the due process of law so that no innocent gets harmed.
