*PTI given green signal to hold rally on September 28
District administration on Wednesday has given permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on September 28 and has written to the CCPO for foolproof security arrangements.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood had said that PTI will not be refrained from holding a public gathering after the party submitted an application to the district coordination officer (DCO) seeking permission for rally.
He said that construction work is in progress around the Minar-e-Pakistan, and if PTI insisted on the same venue, then the final decision would be made about granting the permission.
However, security officer at Minar-e-Pakistan Muhammad Zameer said that there are security threats at the venue and due to the same reason, barbed wires have been placed around the vicinity.
The administration told that the area consists of 55 acres of land and has the capacity for four million people.
