CIA police smashed an inter-district dacoit gang and arrested its four members besides recovering looted items and illegal weapons.
CIA SP Umer Virk constituted a special police team under the supervision of CIA City DSP which conducted raid and arrested ringleader Tariq Mehmood and his three accomplices Shakil, Asif and Usman.
Police also recovered Rs 1.2 million in cash, two motorcycles, 18 mobile phones and illegal weapons.
During preliminary interrogation, the gangsters confessed to 54 incidents of dacoity and robbery committed in different areas of the Lahore, Sheikhupura and Faisalabad.
DIG Investigation Shahzad Sultan has announced cash and commendatory certificates for the team.
