Suspects in the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentarian MNA Tahira Asif were identified Tuesday.
Commenting on the latest development in the case, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) SP Umer Virk said that Asif’s daughter and driver identified the alleged killers as Imran and Kamran.
Asif was shot and injured while resisting an apparent robbery attempt in Iqbal Town area earlier this year in June. She later succumbed to her injuries. MQM Chairman Altaf Hussain had termed her murder as an act of target killing and demanded that the government arrest the killers within three days.
The case was classified as a high-profile one and four suspects were initially arrested. However, two were later released due to lack of sufficient evidence against them.
