Shahbaz will not leave flood-hit brethren alone

*CM visits flood-hit areas of district Jhang and nearby villages

*Flays PTI, PAT chiefs for being apathetic to flood victims’ plight

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday visited the flood-hit areas of District Jhang and nearby villages to review the relief and rehabilitation activities.

The CM visited villages Athara Hazari, Ahmedpur Sial, Bhochra, Kot Shakar, Jandana, Jogaira and Garh Maharaja where he inspected relief camps, met the flood victims and enquired about their problems.

Reviewing the preparations for the distribution of financial assistance among the flood victims, Sharif said it would have been better if the billions of rupees spent by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri on the protest sit-ins in Islamabad were spent on helping the flood victims.

Addressing the flood victims, the CM said that those staging sit-ins have shown apathy towards the flood victims’ plight.

Sharif said that he appealed to those staging sit-ins many times to come out and help the affectees but they have become stonehearted.

He said that the “London conspiracy” between Qadri and Khan has been exposed, adding that the two leaders’ aim was to stop Chinese investment in Pakistan and the people have now become aware of their “nefarious designs”.

He said that people were drowning in floodwater whereas Khan was busy in music and dance functions in Islamabad.

Addressing the PTI chief, Shahbaz said, “These poor villagers are your Pakistani brethren. Are you not worried that these people are drowning?”

He said that Qadri hails from Jhang and should have come to Jhang to sympathise with the people. He said that people would never forgive Khan and Qadri for the way they have ignored the flood victims.
