PESHAWAR-

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Agriculture on Wednesday was disqualified from his provincial assembly seat by an election tribunal for holding a fake degree.

Ikramullah Gandapur, from  KP’s ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),  had won from Dera Ismail Khan PK-67 seat in a by-election as  it fell vacant following the assassination of KP Law Minister Israrullah Gandapur in a suicide attack.

His opponent Fataullah Mian Khel had challenged  his election and the authenticity of his degree. The matter was forwarded by the returning officers to the election tribunal which on Wednesday decided the case in favor of Miankhel and disqualified Gandapur for holding a degree proven fake in investigation.

He is the second PTI lawmaker to have been disqualified in a fake degree case.  In September 2013, Yousaf Ayub Khan was disqualified from his seat for holding a fake degree.

  1. Speaks volumes of integrity of PTI candidates who question mandate of others. Shame on you Imran Khan. Your party comprises clowns like yourself.

  2. We don't believe in fake democracy, fake parliament and corruption in politics. Holding a fake degree is neither big issue nor it is corruption. Nawaz Sharif Istifa Do.
