Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Tuesday submitted an application to Lahore district coordination officer, seeking permission for the holding a party public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan ground on September 28.

The application was received by DCO’s staff officer. Speaking to reporters after submitting the application, PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal said that his party would stage its public gathering at Jati Umra, if they were not granted permission to rally at Minar-e-Pakistan.

“We will hold a rally greater than the one held in Karachi,” the PTI MPA claimed.

He hoped that Lahore DCO would permit them to hold a rally in the city on September 28. He was of the view that the responsibility of providing security to the rally’s participants would lie with the government.
