Inauguration ceremony of Metro Bus Project postponed by a month owing to PTI, PAT sit-ins
Inauguration ceremony of Metro Bus Project (MBP) has been postponed for one month due to the continuing protests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
According to the new schedule, MBP will now complete with one-month delay. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had to inaugurate MBS on December 25.
Metro Bus Project will now be completed till January 31 and its inauguration is expected in first week of February.
More than 60 percent work of MBP has been completed while due to the protests work on several places has been stopped. Moreover, torrential rains and flood are also the causes of delay in completion of the project.
District Administration sources told that if the protests would continue till mid of October then it will be delayed further and its estimate will cross Rs 50 billion.
