Suspects in the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Tahira Asif were identified on Tuesday.

Commenting on the latest development in this high profile case, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) SP Umer Virk said that Asif’s daughter and driver identified the alleged killers as Imran and Kamran.

Asif was shot and injured while resisting an apparent robbery attempt in Iqbal Town neighbourhood in June this year. Later, she later succumbed to injuries. MQM chief Altaf Hussain had termed her murder as an act of target killing and demanded that the government should arrest the killers of Asif within three days. The case was classified as a high profile one in which four individuals were initially arrested, however, two were released due to lack of sufficient evidence.
