President woos foreign investors

President Mamnoon Hussain has urged foreign investors and industrialists to invest in Pakistan while taking full advantage of business-friendly atmosphere in the country.

He was speaking at 11th business excellence ceremony organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce in Peshawar on Monday.

The president commended the business community of KPCCI for playing an active role in the creation of economic opportunities and promotion of businesses in the province. He praised the perseverance and fortitude of the people of KPK in the face of militant attacks and terrorist activities. The president expressed confidence that the patriotic zeal of the people of KPK would defeat militancy and extremism.

The president stated that the government was striving hard to improve the state of security environment in the country. In this regard, security apparatus and armed forces of the country were valiantly fighting the militants to wipe out terrorist infrastructure.

The president said the business and investor-friendly policies of the government were attracting domestic and foreign investment in different sectors of the economy besides generating business activities around the country for the betterment of people. The president underscored the need for optimum utilization of resources for enhancing economic growth.

He urged the traders and industrialists to identify potential markets for diversifying and boosting up exports of the country. The president reiterated the resolve for providing an enabling environment for revival and growth of business activities in the province.

Referring to the request made by KPCCI President Zhidullah Shinwari in his welcome address for the announcement of a special incentive package for the business community of KPK, he assured to take up the matter with the federal finance minister.
