CIA police claims to have arrested 15 terrorists and recovered four suicide jackets, 20 kg explosive material, 15 hand grenades and 16 Kalashnikovs in the current year.
CIA Superintendent of Police (SP) Umer Virk stated this during a meeting to review CIA police performance on Sunday.
He said the police arrested 3,203 accused and registered 1,904 cases involved in abduction for ransom, blind murder, dacoit, attempt-to-murder and robbery incidents besides recovering gold ornaments worth Rs 306 million, vehicles, foreign currency and illegal weapons.
He said 649 proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the same period.
The police have arrested 60 drug pushers and recovered 150 kg hashish, 10 kg heroin, 4 kg opium and 1,300 bottles of liquor.
CIA police have registered 237 cases and registered 276 accused of having illegal weapons and recovered 619 rifles, guns, mousers, pistols 407 magazines and over 100,000 rounds.
