Judges detention case: Mush exempted from appearing in court

ATC summons former dictator again on Oct 13

The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi Friday accepted former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s plea seeking exemption from appearance in the court for one day in the judges’ detention case.

ATC Judge Justice Attiqur Rehman was hearing the case. Two guarantors of Musharraf appeared in the court. During the hearing, Defence Counsel Safdar Javed presented medical report of his client Mussharf.

The lawyer also submitted an application in the court, seeking exemption of his client from attending the court proceeding for one day.

Public prosecutor Aamir Nadeem Tabish raised objection on the application and absence of Musharraf in court. He said that Musharraf has not been appearing before the court since last 19 hearings. The prosecutor appealed the court to reject the medical report of Musharraf and take action against the guarantors in the judges’ detention case.

The court accepted the defence counsel’s application and again summoned Musharraf on October 13 in the next hearing.
