Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the apex body of chambers in the country, Saturday condemned anti-state posture of Imran Khan by publicly setting electricity bills on fire.

Federation Chief Zakria Usman while criticising the anti-state speeches of the PTI chief for the last one month on so-called pretext of “Naya Pakistan” said that the act of burning the electricity bill publicly was liable to be taken to task by the government as he was involved in harming national integrity.

Expressing displeasure over the anti-democratic attitude of Imran Khan and holding a PTI mob in the federal capital, he said it had inflicted huge loss to national economy and rendered lot of poor daily wagers jobless.

He asked a question that whether it was preparation towards making Naya Pakistan by totally paralysing the economy of the state.

Strongly reacting to speeches of Imran Khan, the United Business Group chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik said the country could not afford such type of mobocracy at this critical juncture.

He warned the PTI and PAT leadership against anti-state speeches and suggested them to come to table for result-oriented parleys for the promotion of democracy in the country. SM Naseer and Munawar Mughal, FPCCI VPs, said that the sit-ins in the federal capital had damaged the image of Pakistan abroad as switching over hundreds of export orders to neighbouring countries had caused loss to the national kitty.

Both the trade leaders asked another question to Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadrit whether or not the latter would compensate the financial loss being suffered by industrialists and businessmen.

Mian Waqar Ahmad, a candidate for chamber class of LCCI, said that these leaders were not true representatives of 99.99 per cent of the total population of the Pakistan, so they had no right to play with the destiny of the nation. He said the entire business community stood united under the umbrella of United Business Group and would thwart the designs of both Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri.
