The joint resolve

The Joint Session of the Parliament has passed a joint resolution in support of democracy and in favour of supremacy of the constitution. The resolution reiterated the commitment of the parliamentarians to the cause of defending the institution of Parliament and the democratic system at large. Though the system and the Parliament both need to be more pro people and design their priorities as to make the country a welfare society, but to derail or destabilise the system through politics of aggression and agitation is not the solution. No matter how inevitable and desirable a change is being drummed about, it needs to be executed and implemented through justified means. Pakistan is a nuclear state and as its geostrategic location carries an important role in the region and the world, any desirable changes in the system should be articulated, promoted and executed in a befitting mature manner casting no aspersions on the stability of the country.
