MQM chief says new provinces based on administrative units are necessary for prosperity and stability of Pakistan
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Friday said opposition to the formation of new provinces and administrative units in Sindh is condemnable.
“For the prosperity and stability of the country, new provinces based on administrative units are necessary,” he said.
“For as long as I live, I will fight for the rights of Urdu-speaking people and the oppressed,” Altaf added.
Earlier, in a press statement, Altaf demanded the formation of at least 20 new provinces in the country. Citing the rapid population growth, the MQM chief there should be new provinces or new administrative units. He added that by creating new provinces, power would be passed on to people at the grass root level.
Further, MQM has announced a protest at Teen Talwar in Karachi on Saturday against PTI’s opposition of provinces in Sindh.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan is scheduled to address party workers in Karachi on September 21.
