*Dr Maalik, on behalf of Balochistan government, donates Rs 100 million for rehabilitation of flood victims

The nation will never forgive the PTI chief for ignoring sufferings of floods victims, said Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday while addressing flood victims on his visit to a relief camp, set-up at Chenab Chowk near Head Muhammadwala in Multan, with Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Maalik Baloch, Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Minister for Law and IT Abdur Raheem Ziaratwal

Both the chief ministers strongly criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for ignoring flood-hit people and said sit-in was creating hurdles in foreign investments in the country.

Dr Maalik handed over a cheque worth Rs 100 million to the Punjab chief minister for the flood-hit people.

He observed that people had given 34 seats to PTI but the PTI chief had completely ignored the affected people and was staging musical nights in Islamabad.

Shahbaz said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also expressed solidarity with the affected people but the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak did not pay attention to the flood-hit people.

He added that there had been 30 deaths in KPK due to rains but the KPK CM left the grieved people alone in critical situation.

He said the recent floods affected millions of people, thousands of houses and cattle across the province.

Shahbaz said one instalment of payment to the flood-hit people would be paid before Eid.

He thanked Dr Maalik for extending help towards the people and stated that gentle gesture would be remembered forever.

He also announced to remove technical fault in construction of Head Muhammadwala bridge. He, however, clarified that the Head Muhammadwala was not constructed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Dr Maalik said that people of Balochistan were with flood-affected brothers of Punjab.

He also criticised people staging sit-ins in the federal capital and said the sit-ins were causing heavy damages to the country’s economy.

He added that heavy investment in energy and other sector got disturbed due to these sit-ins.

He said society, lawyers and political parties were with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He urged protesting political parties to end sit-in and come forward to help flood-affected people.
