The government decided Wednesday not to use force against protesters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) staging sit-ins in the federal capital. The decision was made during a meeting of parliamentarians of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair.

The parliamentarians said that though the leaders of the two protesting parties are spreading chaos and misleading the youth, the government is exhibiting patience and trying to resolve the issue peacefully.

The parliamentarians were of the view that PTI and PAT were using different tactics to put the state machinery into action so that they could get an excuse to clash with security personnel “but their designs have been foiled through the farsightedness and patience of the ruling party’s leadership”.

The parliamentarians warned that those involved in launching assaults on state institutions, taking the law in hand and damaging public property would not be spared and law enforcers would take would take action against them.
