Diseases are spreading amongst the residents of Rawalpindi and its adjacent areas as sewage is getting mixed with water in Rawal Dam.
According to details, dirty water of sewage from adjacent colonies of Rawal Dam is polluting the water of Rawal Dam for a long time due to which residents of Rawalpindi and its adjacent localities are bound to drink filthy water.
Sources told that Supreme Court took the notice of this issue and ordered to install a treatment plant for keeping the water clean but the order could not materialise.
According to the master plan, Rawal Dam is in zone four and it was kept as green area and it was decided that buildings of any kind will not be constructed in this area but administration of CDA failed to implement it and authoritative people build a private colony in this area and did not arrange sewage system.
CDA took the stance that Rawalpindi is using water of Rawal Dam therefore they should arrange its cleaning facility while Punjab government took the stance that as Rawal Dam is in the premises of Islamabad therefore they should arrange it while in the fight of departments filthy water is spreading diseases in those citizens who are drinking water of Rawal Dam.
