No dam on Chenab

The recently shown ravages of river Chenab with 8 lac cusecs of flood water flowing down to colossal destruction of countless villages brimming with people in central Punjab looked like a modern day “Toofan-i-Noah”. The rulers are piously smug in their palaces and could not care less for the people. There is not a single dam to store the terrible flood waters of River Chenab although according to experts a dam could be built near Chiniot to store river waters where the river enters the plains after traversing hills. Whereas India has built scores of dams on Chenab River in its territory, ostensibly to generate power, Pakistan has yet to utilise the Chenab waters for either water or power. The abysmal ineptitude of the PML-N rulers to harness the waters of Chenab could only lament their callousness to the grave results of flood that failed to move them out of stupor that is the hallmark of their life. The stories circulating in the national press about fake visits of chief minister to flood sites with fake people and fake food cooking in empty degs is a proof of their hollow style of governance.
