An Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Monday remanded accused ex-police constable Liaqat Ali to police custody for three days in a murder case of a cop.
Police produced the accused before ATC-II Judge under tight security.
Investigation officer produced the accused and requested the court that police needed his physical custody for more information about the crime he committed, which the court accepted. The court remanded the accused to police custody till 18th with the direction of producing the accused on 19th.
According to prosecution, the accused was involved in murdering his colleague police constable, Tasawur Iqbal, and injuring police constable Qurban Jalil over personal disputes with his partner in crime, Habib Shah, on January 1, 2013.
The case FIR No 467/2013 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempt to murder), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the New Karachi police station.
