As many as three accused including two gang war members were killed in police encounters and arms and other looted valuables were recovered from their possession on Saturday.
Police said an exchange of fire took place with robbers in Industrial Area of New Karachi. In cross firing, an accused identified as Ishaq was killed while his accomplice managed to flee. Arms, snatched mobile phones and other valuables were recovered from possession of robber killed in encounter.
SP Lyari Shahnawaz said that a team of police launched crackdown in Chakiwara area of Lyari. The culprits present in the area offered strong resistance and traded fire with police during which two accused of gang war (Aziz Group) identified as Daniyal and Danish were killed. Arms, hand grenades and other valuables were recovered from their possession. The culprits killed in fire exchange were wanted by police in various cases of extortion, kidnapping for ransom, robberies and other crimes.
