WAZIRABAD-
An influential landlord in Wazirabad village of Saroki reportedly gouged out a child’s eye to teach him a lesson for plucking an orange from the landlord’s orchard, a private news channel reported on Saturday.
According to the report, ten-year-old Khizer, in Saroki village of Gujranwala’s tehsil Wazirabad, was captured by the caretakers at Landlord Chaudhary Ikram’s orchard for attempting to pluck an orange from a tree.
The landlord and his accomplices tortured the child, gouging out his eye.
Khizer’s family rushed him to a hospital where doctors confirmed that his eye was gone. The child has now been referred to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
Inspector General Punjab has taken notice of the incident and ordered an immediate arrest of the culprits.
