The government Friday released photos of all those who had attacked state television headquarters earlier his month.
A half-page advertisement in major newspapers carried pictures of the suspects and an offer of cash reward by the Islamabad Police for anyone who provides information about the suspects.
Police on Thursday got pictures of 70 assailants who are involved in an attack on Pakistan Television (PTV) headquarters in Islamabad during the anti-government protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). PAT Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri was blamed for the assault. Qadri denied his supporters’ involvement in the incident, alleging that the government had planned the attack.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has reportedly identified nine out of the 70 assailants.
Police sources say over 800 protesters entered in the PTV headquarter after breaking its gate.
The attackers also stopped PTV transmission worldwide for nearly half an hour. The PTV management says the protesters also took away some costly cameras and other equipment.
The Army, who were guarding the building, later requested the assailants to leave.
