IHC accepts bail after arrest plea of four people illegally detained in Adiala Jail

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail after arrest to the accused including Sajid Ullah, Ghulam Ullah, Qasim and Ehsan Ul Haq illegally detained in Adiala Jail and issued orders for their release against surety bonds in the sum of Rs 100,000 each.

A two-member IHC bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Athar Minullah took up Sajid Ullah versus state case for hearing Thursday.

Sardar Aziz Khan Counsel for the petitioner and Najib Shah SHO Koral Police Station appeared in the court.

The counsel for the petitioners told the court that Koral Police and security agencies picked up four accused including Sajid Ullah, Ghulam Ullah, Qasim and Ehsanul Haq from some unspecified location and registered case against them on the basis of a report of fake police encounter. The accused were arrested and sent to Adiala jail.

The counsel for petitioners further told the court that Koral Police also registered a report of recovery of grenades and two pistols from the accused. He contended that false case has been registered against the accused and no arms of any sort have been recovered from them.

The family members of the accused persons also filed a report with Koral and Civil Lines police stations about their disappearance. Later they came to know that the accused have been arrested and sent to Adiala Jail.

The hearing of the case was adjourned indefinitely.
