Over 140 citizens have been held in different areas for violating the ban on pillion riding.
Following the ban on pillion riding, police initiated crack down in the city and held over 140 citizens from jurisdictions of different police stations, while corruption mafia also became active before police stations for getting the arrested citizens released.
Pickets against pillion riding were established throughout the city and over 100 citizens, besides 40 officers, even people riding in streets were being held in over 100 police stations of the city.
According to sources, police have started dealing with the people who were held for pillion riding while those who were charged for it were asked to pay 10 to 12 thousand as personal surety, however, staff of investigation units has also started making deals with imprisoned the accused.
