Asad Mashadi elected RCCI president unopposed

Mian Humayun Parvez elected senior vice president, Saboor Malik elected vice president

Syed Asad Haider Mashadi of Mian Pervaiz Aslam Group has been elected unopposed as Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) president for the year 2014-15.

The three-member RCCI Election Commission (EC) comprising Navid Javed, Chaudhary Iqbal Ahmed and Tariq Javed Butt announced the unopposed winner in a meeting held Friday.

The announcement of newly-elected Senior Vice President Mian Humayun Parvez and Vice President Saboor Malik was also made. The newly-elected office bearers will assume charge on October 1, 2014.

According to the RCCI EC no other nomination papers were received for the three seats of president, senior vice president and vice president hence the election commission declared the aforementioned candidates as winners.

Earlier, for the election of RRCI Executive Committee of RCCI, 23 candidates submitted nomination papers for five seats of associate class, 18 of them withdrew their nomination papers and thus the election commission announced the remaining five candidates successful. The winners of associate class are Syed Asad Haider Mashadi, Saqib Daud, Muhammad Fayyaz Qureshi, Muhammad Ayaz Maik and Saqib Rafiq.

For Corporate Class 9 nomination papers were submitted but four candidates withdrew their papers before the due date and the RCCI EC declared the rest of the five nominated members as winners. The successful candidates of the corporate class are Mian Humayun Parvez, Usman Shaukat, Saboor Malik, Muhammad Khalid Farooq Qazi and Ateeq Ahmed Malik.

Outgoing RCCI President Dr Shimail Daud Arain and Group Leader Sheikh Shabbir felicitated the newly-elected office bearers and hoped that the new body will leave no stone unturned for the betterment of the business community and will serve the cause of their late leaders Mian Pervaiz Aslam and Najamul Haq Malik.
