Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram on Tuesday urged the citizens to use Airport Road and Peshawar Road to reach Islamabad during the construction of Metro Bus Project.
He said that efforts are being made by the traffic police to regulate traffic on Murree Road but without the cooperation of the citizens, traffic load on city roads including Benazir Bhutto Road could not be controlled.
Besides enhanced number of traffic wardens, the officials who were performing duties in other areas were also deployed on Murree Road, said that CTO.
He said that a comprehensive traffic plan has been devised but the cooperation of citizens is necessary to avoid a traffic mess, mainly on Murree Road.
He advised the motorists to use Airport Road through Karal Chowk, and Peshawar Road through IJP Road and Golra Mor to reach Islamabad.
The citizens can come to the city area through Rawal Road, Saidpur Road and IJP Road, he added.
