LAHORE-
The husband of member provincial assembly Shamim Akhtar was found dead at their residence in Lahore, a private news channel reported.
Akhtar, belonging from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in her statement to the police said that she and her husband Kabir Ahmed, 70, had been receiving death threats.
On Sunday night, the MPA returned home from a wedding and found her husband dead.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem by the police while it adds that no torture marks have been found on the victim.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the murder of incident and directed Inspector General of Punjab police to submit a report and arrest culprits involved in the murder at earliest.
The Chief Minister also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
A neigbour has been nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) on complaint of Akhtar.
And when is the Chief Minister going to instruct the IG to take notice of the Model Town massacre and arrest the culprits? Oh hold on the culprits were the Punjab Police so no chance of an investigation or any arrests!!! Welcome to Sharif's and Zardari's Pakistan.
