‘Shaheed-e-Watan’ staged at RAC

Rawalpindi Arts Council organised a stage play titled “Shaheed-e-Watan” to celebrate Defence Day of Pakistan in memory of those who killed in Indo-Pak war of 1965 and successful defence of Lahore, Sialkot and other important areas of the country. The play was written by Rana Kashif and directed by Amin Shahzada. Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Member Punjab Assembly Tehseen Fawad accompanied by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed participated as guests of honor.  This was a story of landlord family who has only a sole son and recruited in Pak Army. He soon got promotion as major rank. His parents decide to marry his son with his cousin. Both the couple loves each other from the soul of their heart. At the day of their marriage war of 1965 starts and he is called back to join his duty and is sent on eastern border where he is martyred in fighting with the enemy. His parents felt proud on the martyr of their son while his wife is also proud to be a widow of martyr. The caste of the drama was Rana Kashif, Naeem Buba, Azhar Feroz, Reha Yousaf, Neam Tota, Shahid Kodo, Laiba Ali Arshad Khan and Shujaat Humayun. Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb expressing her views on the occasion said that martyr is not bestowed to everybody because martyr lives forever. She said Rawalpindi Arts Council presented such a wonderful and emotional play to show solidarity with Pakistan army.  Member Punjab Assembly Tehseen Fawad said that participants gained important knowledge of 1965 through drama. Naheed Manzoor said in 1965 Pak Army defeated enemy very badly. Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed congratulated all the drama team.
