ISLAMABAD-
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday announced to ‘forgive’ Senator Aitzaz Ahsan for his remarks in the joint Parliament session on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, Khan said that he had been attacked by allegations on a personal level but he has chosen to let go off what happened the previous day.
The federal minister mentioned his services to the PML-N government and added that he had offered to resign from his ministry but PM Sharif told him not to do so.
He asked that the allegations made against him by Aitzaz Ahsan can be investigated by any judge of his choosing.
“If there is even 1 percent evidence for the allegations, I will quit politics , let alone the ministry,” he said.
On Friday, Aitzaz Ahsan and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah had very strongly condemned Khan for his remarks on Ahsan. Khan had called the senator ‘land mafia’ in a press conference earlier.
The PM personally apologized to the opposition in the joint session for what he called ‘unfortunate’ comments made by Khan against Ahsan.
Speaking at the joint session of the parliament, the prime minister said that he was not happy over the statements by the interior minister.
The PM had stopped Khan from responding to the Shah and Ahsan’s comments in the Parliament upon which Khan was reportedly highly disappointed by the PM.
He had announced that he would reply to the senator’s remarks in the press conference on Saturday.
