Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Friday said he would not end his sit-in protest unless Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepts his demand and steps down from office.
Addressing his supporters, Khan said that even though the negotiating committees of the government and PTI were holding meetings over the demands, he wanted to make it clear that he would not surrender his demand for Sharif’s resignation.
The PTI chief paid homage to the passion of the protesters for keeping standing even in heavy rain in Islamabad. He lashed out at parliamentarians, specifically Fazlur Rehman and Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who he claimed were ‘posing’ as democrats in the National Assembly.
Khan also rejected the government’s claim of an expected investment from China, alleging that the government of Prime Minister Sharif was instead seeking a loan of $45 billion during the Chinese president’s now cancelled trip to Pakistan.
