SC moved for disqualification, registration of treason case against dharna leadership

Petition has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) seeking disqualification and registration of treason cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and other leaders of dharnas.

Petition has been filed by barrister Zafar Ullah of Jamhori Watan Party (JWP) in the SC Lahore registry. The petitioner has madDr Qadri, Khan, Sheikh Rashid and Shah Mehmood Qureshi respondents.

The petitioner took the plea that the leaders of sit-ins have taken unconstitutional step by holding dharnas in the Red Zone. Not obeying the Constitution and Parliament fall in the ambit of treason, therefore, court is requested to disqualify the leaders of the dharnas and treason case be registered against them, he prayed.
