Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari arrived in the federal capital on Wednesday to give impetus to efforts being made to resolve the political standoff between the government and the protesting parties, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

Before departing from Karachi, Zardari reportedly spoke to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the telephone and discussed the prevailing situation in the federal capital.

Meanwhile, Senator Rehman Malik has also briefed the PPP co-chairman about the outcome of his meetings with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT chief Dr Tahrul Qadri.
