Violence claims seven lives, leaves seven injured

One man died and other seven people were injured including four police personnel in fresh violence spat in the metropolis on Wednesday.

An unidentified man, 30, died in a police encounter in Gulshan-e-Maymaar area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy.

Separately, four police personnel were injured when unidentified armed men hurled explosive at a police check post under NurseryBridge. They were identified as constable Saleem, 42, son of Qasim, constable Mahiwal, 43, son of Nazar Muhammad, constable Maqsood, 40, son of Orangzeb, and Nasir, 35, son of Farooq. All injured were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.

Yet in another firing incident, two real brothers were injured near National Bank Malir 15 area. According to rescue sources, Khalid, 40, and Talha, 26, sons of Muhammad Saqib were injured when unidentified armed men fired bullets on them. They were brought to JPMC for treatment.

Meanwhile, Akbar Aziz son of Azizullah, aged 51, was injured when unidentified armed fired bullets at him near Sachal Goth. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

SIX KILLED IN VIOLENT CLASH:

Armed group attacked a village in which six including an attacker was killed.

According to reports, some unidentified assailants attacked on a village Nazal Jonejo and opened indiscriminate fire which left five villagers dead. Villagers counter attacked and killed one of the assailants while other assailants managed to escape the site.

According to police, deceased have been shifted to hospital for further medico-legal formalities, however area has been cordoned off and search operations have been initiated. While no one could be arrested yet till filing of this report
