The Lahore High Court on Tuesday allowed Ayaz Khan Niazi, a National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam accused, to go abroad for medical treatment.
The court directed the accused to submit surety bonds of Rs 2,500,000 for the purpose.
Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa passed the orders on a petition filed by Niazi challenging a ban on his travelling aboard.
Ayaz Niazi through his petition submitted that he wanted to go abroad for treatment because it was impossible in Pakistan. He pointed out that his name was included in the Exit Control List despite the fact that he had been granted bail in NICL scam. He pleaded the court to allow him to go abroad for treatment.
