Washington think tank discusses Pakistan’s challenges with Arif Nizami

Washington Policy Analysis Group hosted a discussion with leading journalist and Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami on the political standoff in Pakistan in the face of ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad and challenges facing the country.

Prominent Pakistani intellectuals, journalists and experts on South Asian affairs, based in Washington attended the event, which was moderated by Punjabi linguist and online magazine Wichaar Editor Dr Manzur Ejaz.

Nizami touched on the issues of democracy, politics, the role of state institutions and the civil society in Pakistan, as he replied to a range of questions on the current situation. He observed that the current crisis is a result of wrong steps taken by all sides and should be resolved judiciously.

The think tank members thanked Nizami for his insightful remarks on the political standoff.
