Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children helped to write their wedding vows.
The Hollywood couple tied the knot in France on August 23 and they enlisted the help of their kids Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, to make sure their words to each other were extra special and personal on their big day.
A source said: ”The atmosphere was warm and informal – there were giggles and a ring was dropped.
”All the children helped to write the vows and asked their parents to make promises to each other.”
Speaking to UK’s HELLO! magazine, in conjunction with PEOPLE magazine in the US, the couple said: ”It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family.”
The Jolie-Pitt children also played a big part in designing the 39-year-old brunette’s gorgeous wedding gown, which featured the kids’ drawings on a fetching hand-printed veil.
The sketches included pictures of the youngsters as well as the Eiffel Tower, zebras, a drum kit and words including ”dad” and ”mom”, but one of their cheeky clan had scribbled ”buffock futtock” on the gown.
Angelina’s main section of dress was designed by Atelier Versace’s tailor Luigi Massi, who worked closely with the ‘Maleficent’ actress on the outfit.
She said: ”Luigi is like family to me and I couldn’t imagine anyone else making this dress. He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together.”
Jeweller Robert Procop had the enviable task to designing the bride’s stunning wedding band, an estimated 16-carat, emerald-cut diamond worth around $500,000 after he did such a great job creating her $250,000 diamond engagement ring.
Pax also had a special part to play in the nuptials as the youngster and his pals created the Brad, 50, and Angelina’s wedding cake.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by around 20 friends and family at their French estate Chateau Miraval in Correns.
Following the ceremony, the wedding attendees – who included Brad’s parents William and Jane – were treated to a home-cooked meal including sea bass and wine from the estate.
An insider said: ”It was a lovely, happy day with lots of laughter and meaning that the entire family will remember for the rest of their lives.”
