Karachi receives light rain

Parts of Karachi received light rain on Monday afternoon bringing a pleasant change in the weather, though briefly, as the Met Office has forecast more precipitation for the metropolis during the next 24 hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the city remained between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius.

Moderate rainfalls also occurred at an isolated place in Southeast Sindh, Northeast Balochistan and South Balochistan. Barkhan received 18mm rain, Lasbella 12mm and Badin 10mm. Weather remained hot/very hot and humid elsewhere in the region. Thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy falls is likely to occur at a number of places in Mirpurkhas, at scattered places in Sukkur, Hyderabad and at isolated places in Larkana division of Sindh.

Thunderstorm/ rain is also expected in Zhob, Kalat division and at isolated places in Sibi, Nasirabad divisions of Balochistan. Light rain/drizzle may occur along Makran coast.
