Three girl students of 7th class fainted in government girls high school on Monday due to scorching heat and non-availability of ceiling fans.
These students include Sania Mirani, Aiza Bharchoond and Sawera Mirani. This is the second time that girl students have fainted due to hot weather.
On hearing the news, head mistress of the school, Haseena Khuhro, came there and immediately called for a doctor who arrived and provided treatment to them due to which they regained conscious and were sent home forthwith.
Other girl students said the ceiling fans were outdated or burnt, hence of no use, but the government despite claims had done nothing to replace them. Haseena told reporters that there were approximately 358 students registered in the school which was located in the mid of the town which had only 5-classrooms, hence, each class had more than 71 female students which was indeed unjust.
She said the electricity load shedding was regularly carried in Naundero during 10:00 am to 12.00 pm and it was the peak time when fans were acutely needed to study. She said many teacher posts were lying vacant due to which studies of the female students was suffering.
She further added that five more classrooms were under construction since last five years for which the relevant department must be directed to complete the same and handover so that rush in the classrooms could be reduced. The citizens demanded provision of fans in the school with immediate effect.
