Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari Saturday said that the current issue would not have risen if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had not submitted to the then chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry in the Supreme Court on August 28, 2013.
Zardari said that Khan had “bowed down” to the former CJP.
“The situation would have been solved only if Khan had refused to follow the orders of Chaudhry Iftikhar”, Zardari asserted.
In a statement issued from Beijing, Zardari advised all the political parties to resolve the matter through dialogue. He said that only negotiations will solve the ongoing political crisis in the country.
While meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a few days back, the former president had urged the premier not to resign from office and solve all political issues through dialogue.
