*CM presides high level meeting to review Punjab Health Reforms Roadmap
Development of health sector is the priority of the government and it is determined to reform health sector and provide modern health services to the common man, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while presiding over a high level meeting regarding Punjab Health Reforms Roadmap.
The head of the DFID Roadmap team gave a detailed briefing on the priorities of the programme.
Shahbaz said that the Punjab Health Reforms Roadmap is of vital importance for the uplift of health sector and there is a need to ensure its success through hard work and commitment. He directed that an effective check and balance system should be adopted for the implementation of the Punjab Health Reforms Roadmap so that desired results could be achieved. He said that the rural and basic health centres which have not been able to produce satisfactory results will be made centres for the provision of the best medical facilities to the masses in the real sense. The CM directed that a foolproof model and a comprehensive plan be presented to him within next two weeks for activating rural and basic health centres. He also directed that effective measures should also be taken for expanding the scope of coverage of the vaccination programme against diseases.
