Media personnel under attack by rowdy Punjab police

ISLAMABAD-

Media crew were thrashed on Sunday by the police during clashes with the protestors from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad, a private news channel reported.

According to the report, early on Sunday Punjab Police attacked the media team from local news channel Samaa TV and injured a reporter and a cameraman.

Seven vans of various TV news channels were also damaged by the policemen.

Media personnel belonging to Dawn News, Dunya TV, AbbTakk News, News One, Jaag TV and ARY News were also affected by the violent attacks by the police.

National Press Club and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and various other journalist organisations strongly condemned the incident and demanded action against the Inspector General Islamabad.
